L..........o........n.......g gap ... and History follows

Now I understand why I don't find continuity in a lot of Blogs. I experienced it now.

My daughters in the mean while have visited the Egyptians, pharaohs, Sumerians, Babylon, Indus-Valley and the Yellow-river valley which gave SILK to the World. The journey was interesting with the growth of civilization.

I had put my older daughter for "AOL" online math Program for her middle school support. http://www.stepbystepmath.aol.com/

I have introduced my daughters for creating structures with LEGO tiles. They both have done a wonderful job. My older daughter's Lego moving train and my younger one's Animal Kingdom have got certificate merits.

Today I started reading/teaching "The Story of the World" History for the Classical Child, by Susan Wise Bauer. I had bought this book a year back. I read all the three volumes I bought. It was very good.
Only now I had got a chance to start them for my Kids.
I liked the sequence of this History text (not very elaborate, very simple language and requisite information).
I remembered the way I learnt History in India.
Again and again I read only about Chandragupta Mourya, Ashoka, Harsha, the Cheras, Cholas, Pandyas, Hoyasalas, Vijayanagar, Mughals, Shershah, Allaudin Khilji, The British East India Company and all, I still don't remember who were earlier than the other.

In my 9th grade I remember reading about Confucius, Lao Tzu, Roman Empire ... and all. I neither liked nor disliked History then.

Now my views are different, it is very much necessary to be aware of silly events in the World which changed the views of the World.
